Shelby Karch-Hays
Meet our customer service specialist, Shelby Karch-Hays. She joined our team in September 2010 and has since been providing extraordinary client and patient service. Following the advice, "If you want someone to love you forever, get a dog," Shelby became a pet parent. She gravitated toward this position because her own pets have brought so much pleasure into her life. It has always made her happy to be around animals, so this is a naturally rewarding position. Chances are, if it is furry, fluffy, or feathered, Shelby will love it! She is extremely passionate about fostering a connection with animals as she finds them to be intelligent and loyal. She says, "Every time I am exposed to a new animal, I am amazed at the way their personality is expressed." Shelby grew up in Mt.Zion, IL as the only human child in a house of many fur-siblings over the years including dogs, cats, birds, a bunny, and several rats. As a child, she brought home many stray critters. She relocated to Jacksonville in 2007 and currently shares a home with her boyfriend, James, and Corgi, Lady Cumpet's London Bee-Bop. Shelby enjoys her position on our team because she loves to learn new things every day and being surrounded by people she shares a common interest with. She respects everyone who works here, as well as our clients and patients and the bond they share. She enjoys meeting new people and pets, and stealing smiles from strangers! Ask her what she likes most about her job and she will tell you, "No matter how bad your day is, it is never so terrible that walking "Blueberry the goat" on a leash can't fix!" Outside of work, Shelby enjoys all things corgi-licious, cottage gardening, photography, antiques, art & design, living an environmentally friendly lifestyle, and spending time with her favorite trio, Kassidi, Kirstyn, and Kaitlyn.
